One day on the way to the office, I saw a driver who seemed quite impatient. He drove his car recklessly from one lane to another, trying hard to get ahead of the other cars. Then I noticed a Christian symbol on his car’s rear window. It occurred to me that many people might have wondered whether such an inconsiderate driver was truly a follower of Christ.

Un dia, en camino a la oficina, vi un conductor que parecía impaciente.  Manejó su auto de un carill a otro, tratando de pasar otros autos.  Entonces noté  un símbolo cristiano en la ventana trasero de su vehiculo.  Se me occurió que muchas personas podrían haber se preguntado si un conductor tan desconsiderado era un seguidor de Cristo verdaderamente. 

All of us could easily be as guilty of impatient actions as that driver — especially if we are behind schedule and trying to make up time. We might behave in ways that even more blatantly contradict our Christian faith. Others — including unbelievers — always see us. That’s why Jesus commanded us to do good: in order to bring glory to God.
Galatians 5:22-23 reminds us of the fruit of the Spirit, the last of which is self-control. This is perhaps the most challenging gift of all because we are usually in the midst of hectic days. But remembering to live the fruit of the Spirit lets others see our faith in Christ in all the actions of our lives.
