Mis sentimientos en palabras

Estoy molestado y descontenta.  Este noche mis amigos vinieron a mi casa.  Hablaron y hablaron pero yo no siento escuchada y entendida.  Es muy frustrando para mí.  como...no tengo ningún de sus interés.  Y siento herida.  Pero estoy mejorando en esconderme mis sentimientos.  Porque he habido practicando meditación ademas la oración.  Oración is la mejor, pero mediación es muy importante para la mente.  A veces todavía siento que yo no soy bastante bueno- no bastante bueno para otros.  Una ser inferior. Oración is buena para ese.  pero meditación es mejor porque es una problem en mi mente en mis pensamientos.  Me gusta cuando puedo amar a otros y no preocupar sobre lo que piensan en mí.  

Ok, this was really really hard for me to write in Spanish...all about my feelings and thoughts and experience tonight.  I'm thinking it all in English and trying to get the translation correct rather than having the Spanish words just fall from my fingers onto the keyboard.  i hope I can get there one day. 

Pieza de vida

A ver....Estoy leyendo un novela en Español de Argentina.  Es muy diferente.  Mucho palabras como "tenés" y por supuesto, "vos" y "sos".  Comprendo, pero no es cierto que lo voy a recordar después.  En serio, necesito viajar alla.

?Alla?  es correcto?  no se, pero estoy muy muy cansada.  Es verano y trabajo mucho en verano.  Pienso que debería buscar una persona latina para que pueda estudiar con alguien.  Es que..estoy tímido un poco.  Lo hace mas difícil.  ?que mas?  Extraño un par de ex amigos de mi juventud.  Es tiempo para dejarlos ir en mi corazón.  Se que Dios tiene otros planes y otros amigos para mi.  Es OK.  Tengo un vida rica llena de actividades con mi querido marido y dos hijos.  Mi hija vive en Chicago, y la extraño...pero hablamos a veces y tenemos una relación buena.  Y mis hijos tienen novias aquí.  No tengo que sentir sola.  aunque siento sola de todos modos...no hay remedio.  Pieza de vida.

Galatians 5:22-23 reminds us of the fruit of the Spirit, the last of which is self-control. This is perhaps the most challenging gift of all because we are usually in the midst of hectic days. But remembering to live the fruit of the Spirit lets others see our faith in Christ in all the actions of our lives.

De mi meditacíon esta manana:  "En lugar de darse por vencido con ellos" 
Translated:  "Instead of giving up on them,"

La palabra vencido significa "expired" o "defeated".

Agradezco que Dios no da por vencido con mí.

Escribiendo en Español - un poco de mi vida real

Dos niños que yo enseño como tutor son hispanos.  Una niña es de Republica Dominicana y el otro tiene un madre Puertoriqueña y un padre de Peru.  Es muy interesante a practicar Español un poco con ellos, y los otros estudiantes en nuestro grupo se ponen interesados tambien.

It took awhile to write this, but I only had to make a couple of corrections.  Getting better!  I figure it's the next best thing to actually practicing with a speaker- writing and making corrections.  If the language can come out of my typing fingers correctly, maybe one day it will come out of my mouth correctly.  Ciao.

Es muy extraño que estoy moviendo en los mismos círculos como siempre.  Recibí un correo hoy de un profesor en LHS.  Posiblemente yo vaya a comenzar un trabajo allí como una tutora.  Nos veremos.  Hágase tu voluntad, Señor.

A propósito,  aprendí un nuevo frase hoy.  Pasado por alto:  disregarded. 

El séptimo dia de cuaresma

Una frase de mi guía de meditaciónes:  "Le rogué que me ayudara a acostumbrarme a esta soledad, sin sentir angustia."

Two things to pay attention to in this sentence:  1.  The preterit form of rogar (to beg).  2.  The use of "Le" to refer to "Him".

Me alegró cuando mi libro de meditaciónes es diferente en Español que en Inglés a veces.  Necesitaba leer lo uno en Español este mañana.  Dios sabe lo que necesito.

El primer dia de Cuaresma

No estaré en Facebook durante Cuaresma, pero se que mis escrituras aqui aparecerán allí y no voy a dejar este.  Comencé Cuaresma con un gran problema, pero todo se reduce a este. ¿Estoy buscando ser amado, o estoy buscando dar amar?   La oración de San Francisco de Asís no es popular para nada. Es verdad.
En cualquier caso, he tenido una actitud de ‘Que te jodan' en los últimos días.  A lo grande.

La habla

Veía a la profesora de español de Nick hoy en la iglesia (hola, si esta leyendo esto, Sra. McDonald). Hablamos un poco y habla ella muy bien. Pero no soy acostumbrada a alguien hablando rápido en español. ¡Yo sé que mis ojos se velaron mientras habló! Aunque pude entender mas o menos.

So, writing the above paragraph was a good learning experience. According to my translator, in order to say "to glaze over" in Spanish you use the word "velarse". And it's a reflexive verb, which I need practice using. So, in the past (preterit) tense, I would say "se velaron" (vela- being the stem and -aron for the ending, talking about my eyes, mis ojos). The real meaning of velar is to veil, to mask, or to keep a vigil. Muy bien. Pienso que voy a llamarla a preguntar si podemos practicar pronto.

Pitbull on Sesame Street?

So I was watching Sesame Street in Spanish again, and heard the phrase "punte a jugar" in one of the little muppet songs. I was, like whoa, that's from a Pitbull song. But no, the phrase is actually "Ponte (pon + te) a jugar" which means "start to play". Lots of Pontes and Dales in Carribean Spanish music.
Estaba mirando Plaza Sesamo de nuevo, y oí la phrase "punte a jugar" en un cancionita. Yo estaba como, "?Qué?" es de un cancion de Pitbull. Pero no, actualmente la phrase es "Ponte a jugar" y significa "start to play. Muchos pontes y dales en música Español desde el Caribe.

Llevar a cabo

I thought I had already written about this expression, but I came across it again today in the upperroom. Of course, I forgot what it means again. So I just put "llevar a cabo" in the google translator and instead of giving a translation, it gave me a whole list of possible meanings! Since when did google translate do that? Pretty nifty. So the expression basically means to bring to pass or accomplish something. Nice. Let's just hope I can remember now! (Esperanzamos que yo pueda recordar ahora)

By the way, I love reading my short morning devotions in Spanish first, then English if I do not understand everything.

¿Cuanto le debo?

Sometimes I bite off more than I can chew when I study Spanish. It can be a good idea when you're learning something to do it that way, just dive in and get on with it. But there is also a time for breaking it down and practicing, and that is best done one bite at a time.

Watching some Destinos today (it's amazing how much more I understand after a year), and I heard Arturo use the phrase "¿Cuanto le debo?" which means "How much do I owe you?" I am going to try to remember that whenever I'm somewhere and about to pay for something. At least in my mind, I need to say "¿Cuanto le debo?" even if it is English that comes out of my mouth. So that is the homework I am giving myself. Hopefully I can remember! Espero que pueda recordar. Vamos a ver.

Sometimes you feel like a preposition, sometimes you don't.

I need to cut this out and paste it to my fridge, but even if I did, alas, I would not learn it by memorizing it.

Plaza Seasamo me esta ayudando mucho. Hoy miré un parte en cual aprendí la palabra que significa "catch", como "to catch a baseball". Usaron la palabra atrapar. Habia mas, pero yo olvido.

Reflexiones y practicando la escritura

Pues, mi meditacíon este mañana fue sobre cuidando las viudas. Me hace pensar. Porque es nuestro trabajo. Y, quiza no tiene que ser en la forma de empleado profesional. Pero, justo haciendo lo que puedo. Y ese, puedo hacer. A veces me pongo confusa, pero la voz de Dios es claro, si escucharé y si tengo orejas para oír. A menudo, no las tengo. Las hago cosas demasiado complicadas. Hoy, mi meta es para vivir mas simplemente y oir.

Ok, entonces, este escribí sin consultando google translate. Voy a hacerlo mas en el futuro. Ahora, voy a verificar a ver mis errores.

Encontré una página web nueva

Esta mañana estaba buscando por un explicación de por qué a veces se usa la palabra "de" y no se usa "que" para expresar "than" (de nuevo), justo ser seguro. Y, google me mostró esta página. Parece una buena herramienta para aprender. Cualquier cosa para ayúdame.

This morning I was looking for an explanation of why you use "de" instead of "que" to express "than" (again), just to be sure. And google shows me this website. It seems like a good learning tool. Anything to help me.
