Te toca (jugar)

"Te toca" significa "your turn."

So, "te toca jugar" would mean "your turn to play."

Paralee says "te toca" often in the Spanishdict.com video lessons.

Le habían dado

They had given him.

I am still learning my verb conjugations so this pariciple of to give- dar- looked weird.  dado
Infinitive- Dar
Drop the ar
add -ado
Must be irregular!

Destinos

I'm watching lesson 34 now. I paused the video so that I could make this blog. I wanted to create a place where I could keep notes about Spanish phrases, grammar, and all the good stuff I am learning. So I have!  I wish I had started it a few months ago when I first began to study.  I would say I'm at an intermediate level, finally.  I sometimes wonder if I'll ever become fluent, but I am just keeping at it.

Which brings me to the reason I paused the video. Raquel's mom was giving Raquel a hard time about her new Argentine boyfriend, Arturo, and Raquel said,

"No comienzas." Don't start. Handy phrase!
